Third Grade Social Studies

Students study North American geography and history in a variety of ways in third grade. The structure of the United States government, the journey of Lewis and Clark, pioneer life, and the cultures of Canada and Mexico are some of the other topics covered.

Novels and biographies make up a large part of the reading material that students use as they relive history through active projects. Teachers place special emphasis on the impact that famous historical figures have had on our lives today.
