Lower School Foreign Language


Lower School students at Athens Academy begin learning Spanish in First Grade. Benefiting from the latest in foreign language teaching methods and materials, the students learn vocabulary and participate in conversations using phrases and simple sentences. They also gain a basic understanding of some of the cultures and countries in which Spanish is spoken.

Selected works of art, short narratives, fairy and folk tales, traditional rhymes, and songs assist with an appreciation for the countries studied for their geography, holidays, and cultural traditions.
