Welcome to the MS/US Media Center

The mission of the Middle/Upper School Media Center is to provide materials and programs that support the curriculum of the middle and upper schools, to offer ongoing instruction in information literacy, and to encourage media literacy in a media-saturated age. But perhaps most important, we also work to foster a love of reading. We believe that reading can extend our experience, broaden our understanding, deepen our compassion and enrich our lives, and so we provide great books for the entire Athens Academy community of students, faculty, staff and parents, and actively promote reading to the whole school.

The Library Guild

The Library Guild is a group of parents who volunteer in the MS/US Media Center. They assist students, staff the check-out desk, shelve books, process new materials and take care of many other tasks. We are very grateful to have our Library Guild! If you are interested in volunteering in the Media Center, please contact Jean Petrovs at (706) 433-2540.
