EBooks (from the Gale Virtual Reference Library)

Ebooks are electronic books; they can be searched like databases, but are full-text reproductions of actual published reference books. You will click on the EBooks link, then again on Gale Virtual Reference Library. The titles we have in our own "electronic library" are:

EBSCOHost

EBSCOHost is essentially a portal to a number of large databases, including:

  • Magazines, Journals and Newspapers database - allows you to search full text and abstracts of thousands of articles
  • NoveList - can tell you “what to read next,” provides booklists, discussion questions, ways to search for “readalikes,” teacher and reader resources. 
  • NoveList K-8 - the same resource as above, but focused on the younger reader and their teachers.
  • Searchasaurus - like the Magazines, Journals and Newspapers database mentioned above, but geared for younger students and their teachers.
  • Student Research Center - searches the same databases as Magazines, Journals and Newspapers and Searchasaurus, but interface is arranged by topic and by format (so you can search in the topic of Health, for example, and in the formats of magazines and Radio and TV News Transcripts, but leave out Books and Encyclopedia and Biography.
