Eighth Grade English
In eighth grade English, students explore literature in relation to the theme of “community” by reading Lord of the Flies, The Giver, To Kill A Mockingbird, and Our Town.
The writing process continues to be the focus of this course, emphasizing both analytical and creative styles, as well as developing vocabulary through Wordly Wise and reinforcing grammar knowledge. Learning to communicate clearly and concisely through written expression is essential for future academic success.
