Social Studies in Fifth Grade
The fifth grade social studies course is a study of ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, and the Middle Ages. Students experience the culture of each era as they gain a greater understanding of ancient times and their influences on modern society. Non-fiction reading skills, note-taking, good study habits, and organization are all emphasized in this course. Students engage in group projects, research, and independent activities as history is recreated in the classroom.
