Welcome to Fifth Grade

Excitement builds over the summer as new fifth graders prepare for a move to the Middle School! Changing classes for all subjects, having personal lockers, changing clothes for PE, and eating lunch in the Tillman Center are eagerly anticipated privileges.
History comes alive as students celebrate Zeus’s birthday clad as Greek gods, compete in the Olympics of the Mind and Body, and feast at a medieval banquet. A highlight of the fifth grade year is an overnight trip to Nature's Classroom in Mentone, Alabama.
Fine arts classes include drawing and painting, drama, band, and orchestra opportunities, while physical education classes set individual fitness goals for each student and teach different sports.
Students take an active role in conferences with their parents and teachers twice a year.
