Welcome to Seventh Grade
As they begin to develop into young adults, students in Athens Academy's seventh grade take on increased responsibility for their school work and other aspects of their lives. In addition to continuing to strengthen their skills in language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science in a caring and supportive environment, seventh graders can choose from French, Spanish, and Latin classes.
They can also participate in Middle School athletics, perform in the annual Middle School drama production, attend their first Middle School dance, and take part in field trips to art- and history-related sites in the area.
A milestone for every seventh grade student and teacher is the week-long trip to Washington, DC in the spring.
Seventh grade is also the year when students are issued their own laptops, and they not only learn how to use them as a tool for learning, but they also learn how to become safe and responsible users of technology.
