Seventh Grade Science



The central focus of this course is Life Science. The first half of the course is instruction introducing students to life forms ranging from protists to fungi. That is followed by units on Human Immunity and Disease, Cell Reproduction and Genetics and Heredity.

Shorter units on Electricity, Meteorology are covered in the spring semester, which culminates with an investigation into the dangers and social issues relating to tobacco, alcohol and other substances. This study is also part of the Skills for Adolescence Course taught in conjunction with the science curriculum. Students are encouraged to develop investigative and analytical skills as they apply them to problem solving and research.
