The K3 program at Athens Academy is a five-day-a-week program. The day begins at 8:10 a.m. and dismisses at 12:00 p.m. "Stay and Play" is available from 12:00-3:20 p.m. at no additional charge. A fee-based Extended Day program is available from 3:20-5:45 p.m. Regular after school enrichment classes in areas such as cooking, crafts, karate, and other areas are offered throughout the year.

The K3 program is designed to promote a love for listening and learning. Activities are designed around weekly units of study which may include numbers, science, author studies, holidays, and citizenship.

Students’ experiences include movement, art, field trips, celebrations, performances, and free play in the classroom and on the playground.

The curriculum is enhanced by music classes with a specialist twice a week. Students visit the library weekly and attend a session with the science center teacher for hands-on experiments.
