Learning Resource Referral Process
Option 1: Parent or student initiated
- The parent or student should first contact one of the following:
Lower School: Teacher or Director
Middle School: Teacher, Counselor, or Director
Upper School: Teacher, Advisor, Counselor, or Director - Learning Resource Coordinator is then contacted
- Learning Team meets
- The teacher should contact one of the following:
Lower School: Director
Middle School: Director, Counselor
Upper School: Advisor, Counselor, or Director - Student needs presented to Learning Team
- Parent contacted with Learning Team recommendations
- Division Director
- Learning Resource Coordinator
- The student’s teachers
- Upper School Advisor or Counselor
- Request or concern is presented to Division Director, Counselor, Upper School Advisor, student’s teachers, and Learning Resource Coordinator
- Recommendation of Learning Team shared with parents
- Student will work with classroom teacher
- Short-term tutorial support in a particular subject
- Regular tutorial for general academic support
- Specific remedial instruction by a specialist in a particular area
- Outside evaluation for potential learning differences
