Presented to the senior selected by the students as exemplifying the qualities of scholarship, leadership, character, and school spirit. This student contributes significantly to the life of the school as well as sets an example for others.
Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award - Blake Sinyard
Presented to the senior chosen by the faculty and seniors who exemplifies the qualities of leadership, dependability, service, and patriotism in the school, home, and community.
Scholar Athlete Award – McKay Matthews, Blake Sinyard
Presented to a senior boy and to a senior girl who have achieved outstanding records in both academics and athletics.
The G. William Thurston Athletic Award – Wright Shamp, Mary Hadley Williams
Presented to a senior boy and girl athlete whose keen sense of sportsmanship combined with superior athletic skill reflects the merits of Mr. Thurston. These athletes consistently portray competitive excellence with honor in attitude, effort, and performance

With total commitment and without expectation of recognition, he or she has shown dedication and support for the common good, willingly taking on challenges with dignity and courage.
Faculty Award For Excellence – Della Cummings, Everett Young
Presented to the members of the senior class who have demonstrated academic strength, commitment to learning and overall excellence during their years at Athens Academy. Recipients were nominated for departmental recognition in a minimum of three disciplines. This is the highest honor awarded by the faculty to a student for academic excellence.
