Thirteen members of Athens Academy’s Class of 2010 were tapped for membership in The Cum Laude Society in April. The Cum Laude Society recognizes superior academic achievement in secondary schools for the purpose of promoting excellence (Areté), justice (Diké) and honor (Timé). This prestigious society is the secondary school equivalent of Phi Beta Kappa. In 1988, Athens Academy became only the seventh school in Georgia to be chartered for Cum Laude. There are now eight chapters statewide. Athens Academy is proud to share these thirteen students’ impressive achievements as leaders in academics, service, the arts, and athletics.
