Welcome to Upper School (Grades 9-12)
Upper School classes are taught at the college preparatory, honors, and Advanced Placement levels, providing academic opportunities for all students based on their abilities and interests. An Athens Academy student learns to develop intellectual skills in a consistent and responsible manner. Striving for excellence in academic work is expected of all students. While academic opportunities abound, Athens Academy realizes that there is much more to education than time spent in the classroom.
A star science student may also be the captain of the volleyball team, the first chair violin may also be the president of a service club, and the editor of the Spartan Review may also enjoy webcasting home football games.
Students involve themselves in music, art, theatre, athletics, service, and clubs. There truly is something for everyone. Athens Academy understands the importance of preparing children to be contributors to their local communities and to their global community. Working collaboratively with parents ensures that their children will go on to live happy, successful, productive lives in the 21st century.
