The Upper School Foreign Languages Department


The Department of Foreign Languages at Athens Academy offers levels one through Advanced Placement in French, Spanish, and Latin.

At Athens Academy students of French and Spanish prepare for meaningful, real-world communication through reading, writing, speaking, and listening in these languages. Students also study the varied cultures of the countries and regions where these languages are spoken.

Through rigorous translation and study of the vocabulary and structure of Latin, students are more able to comprehend both the vocabulary and structure of English and the Romance languages, and apply a knowledge of Roman civilization and literature to their study of other cultures.
