The Writing Center

The Scruggs Family Writing Center at Athens Academy serves students in their efforts to become better, more confident and more effective writers. We provide support for critical and creative writing, for research and scholarship, and for information and media literacy. The Center offers students one-to-one consultations at every step of the writing process, and also provides assistance to faculty as they teach writing across the curriculum.

Additionally, the Writing Center serves as a physical and spiritual home for reading and writing-related endeavors on campus, the Literary Magazine, the Spartan Review, the yearbook, middle and upper school book clubs, and the annual guest author event, as well as other interests and opportunities as they emerge. We write to learn, and to grow.
