On Campus Programs
Language study – Students begin studying Spanish in first grade. They can continue in Spanish or study Latin or French as they progress into Upper School. All three languages are offered through the AP level.History study - Students study World History, European History, US History, Political Science, and Econmics. See how international studies is integrated into each year of Athens Academy curriculum.
Foreign students - The Academy has welcomed international students from many countries including Belgium, China, Colombia, Croatia, England, France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Poland, Russia, Thailand, and the former Yugoslavia. We have also hosted exchange students from Estonia and the Philippines.
Seminars - Seminars with speakers from other countries and cultures, and trip reports from our own students and faculty enhance the experience of all students.
International Club - The club holds an Annual Winter Holiday Fest at the Garnett Ridge Boys and Girls Club. Upper School students give presentations on a variety of holiday traditions and celebrations, including Diwali, the Five Pillars of Islam, Chinese New Year, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and Christmas.
Hispanic Scholars program - The Hispanic Scholars program is a financial aid program for Hispanic students. Students must be nominated and apply for this program in addition to our regular financial aid program.
