All Sports

All Sports Camp for Lower School - Aug 6-10 9:00 a.m.-12:00p.m.

Rising 1st - 5th Grades      Instructors: Casey Kane and Geoffrey Walton
Location: Old Gym      Cost: $110.00 (includes camp T-shirt)

Spend a week playing sports of all varieties. Students will have fun playing traditional sports such as soccer, kickball, and basketball, but will also learn the art of pickle ball, scooter tag, Dr. Bomb-ball, flag tag, and jail break.

This is a great way for students to stay active, have fun, and develop skills. It’s like PE for 3 hours a day!


Basketball

James Banks Basketball Camp Session I - 1 p.m.-4 p.m. June 18-22

Rising 3rd-10th grades(boys and girls)
Instructor: James Banks - Varsity Basketball Coach
Location: Spartan Center      Cost: $130.00 (Includes camp T-shirt)

Campers will learn individual offensive skills in shooting, dribbling, and passing as well as defensive skills. Former UGA basketball star and current Athens Academy head coach, James Banks, will work with students on proper techniques and drills to improve their all-around games. Campers will be divided by age and ability in order to improve in all areas of basketball.

James Banks Basketball Camp—Session II - 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
July 16-20

Rising 3rd-10th grades (boys and girls)

Football

Michael Gunn Football Camp - 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 noon - July 9-13

Instructor: Michael Gunn - Head Coach
Rising 1st-8th grades     Cost: $150.00 (includes camp T-shirt)
Location: Practice Field inside the Track

Having led the Spartan football team to championship seasons, Coach Gunn is excited to offer the 5th annual Spartan Football Camp. Campers will learn and practice skills to improve on the football gridiron. In addition to Coach Gunn and his staff, campers will work with current varsity players and will have some guest appearances from former Spartan greats!


Soccer

LS/MS Spartan Soccer Camp - June 11-15

1st - 7th Grades- 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon

Instructors: Stefan Billmayer - Varsity Boys Head Coach
               Steve Stewart - Varsity Girls Head Coach
Location: Practice field      Cost: $130.00 (Includes camp T-shirt)

Campers will learn basic skills of soccer from current Athens Academy head coaches Stefan Billmayer and Steve Stewart. All athletes will practice skills by competing in drills and small field scrimmages. They will be divided into groups by age, experience, and ability. Each camper should have his/her own shin guards and water bottle.


Spartan Spirit

Spartan Spirit Camp - 9:00 a.m.-12:30 pm - July 30 - Aug. 1

Rising Pre-first-3th grades         Instructor: Michelle Blume - Varsity Cheerleading Coach
Location: Old Gym     Cost: $110.00 (Includes camp T-shirt)

Students will learn cheers as well as several basic tumbling moves. They will also learn some of the same cheers the cheerleaders use at the Spartan Football games. Campers will make banners and posters which they will use to help the Varsity Cheerleaders at a home football game this season!


Volleyball

Nikki Chester Volleyball Camp - 6 p.m.-9 p.m. (M-Th); 6 p.m.-8 p.m. (Fri)
July 30-Aug 2

Rising 6th - 9th grades
Instructor: Nikki Chester - Varsity Volleyball Coach
Location: Spartan Center
Cost: $130.00 (Includes camp T-shirt)

Students will learn setting, spiking, serving, and blocking through drills and playing in short game situations. Varsity coach Nikki Chester will work with students individually and in groups both large and in smaller units divided by age, experience, and ability.
