Verbal SAT Preparation 10:30 am- 12:30 pm June 20-24
Rising 11th and 12th graders
Instructor: Pat Cuneo
Location: Williams Hall Cost: $150.00 ($280.00 for both)
The SAT is a fact of life for most college-bound students. Why not prepare for it along with your friends during the summer in a relaxed environment when you aren't preoccupied with homework, tutorials, practices, and rehearsals? Whether English is your best subject or not, increase your chances of doing well on two of the three sections of the SAT by building on what you already know about the rules of writing, expanding your vocabulary by learning how to decode words both in and out of context, and learning specific strategies and techniques that will enable you to stare down those daunting questions. Tuition includes The Official SAT Study Guide published by the College Board.
Math SAT Preparation 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm June 20-24
Rising 11th and 12th graders
Instructor: Mike Fitzsimmons
Location: Williams Hall Cost: $150.00 ($280.00 for both)
Learn test-taking strategies and improve your scores! Review the mathematics sections of the SAT including arithmetic reasoning, fundamentals of algebra, geometry principles, ratio and proportion, logical concepts, and quantitative comparisons. Tuition includes The Official SAT Study Guide published by the College Board.
Middle School Writing Workshop July 18-29
Rising 6/7 - 8:15 a.m.-9:45 a.m.
Rising 7/8 - 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Instructor: Natalie Luke
Location: Middle School - Daughtry Building Cost: $250.00 ($17/hour)
This course is designed for students to strengthen writing skills by using the writing process. Students will be exposed to quality examples of writing while brainstorming, drafting, revising, and editing different genres themselves. The course will focus on organization, support, sentence structure, word choice, mechanics and overall development of both narrative and expository pieces. NOTE: seventh graders may choose either session.
Middle School Math Workshop July 18-29

This workshop is composed of four different section - one for each grade. These courses are designed to help students maintain and sharpen mathematical skills by providing practice, small group lessons and individual assistance. Math sections will review and strengthen skills which are essential to the math curriculum. Students will work on grade specific strategies and skills.
Middle School Reading Workshop - 2 Weeks June 20 - July 1
Rising 5th grade - 8:15 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.
Rising 6th grade - 10:00 a.m.- 11:30 p.m.

Location: Middle School - Daughtry Building Cost: $200.00
These reading workshops are designed for students to improve comprehension skills. Students will read one of the required summer reading books, as well as other non-fiction texts provided. Focus on individual skils such as fluency, making predictions, inference, cause and effect, and drawing conclusions. Response to literature through writing will also be a key component of these workshops.
