Extended Day
Pre-school - 12:00 p.m.–5:45 p.m. Lower School - 3:20 p.m.–5:45 p.m.
Extended Day teachers and staff are experienced in working with children. Their focus is to encourage the development of self-esteem, responsibility, and character in each child. Extended Day is designed to be a nurturing environment for each child with time provided for homework, rest, and free play.Lunches for three and four year old children need to be brought from home. Nutritious snacks are provided by the school. In our effort to maintain a suitable child/adult ratio, each class is limited in size to 10-15 students per adult.
There is NO charge for Extended Day for K3-K5 students staying until 3:20 p.m., the regular end of the day for grades 1-12. The charge from 3:20 p.m.–5:45 p.m. is $7.00 per day.
As part of state certification, the following statement must be included in this information: We will not inflict any corporal punishment, shake, jerk, pinch, handle the child roughly, or verbally abuse or humiliate the child. We will use time out with the student in the view of a teacher.
3:20 p.m.– 5:45 p.m.
Middle School students participating in Extended Day go to the Lower School Media Center at 3:20 p.m. for study hall. As they complete their homework they may continue to study, use their laptops, or go to the Lower School playground. A snack will be provided at around 4:00 p.m. Parents may go directly to the Lower School Office to pick up their child. The charge from 3:20 p.m.–5:45 p.m. is $7.00 per day.If a car rider is not picked up by 3:30 p.m.,the student will be placed in the Extended Day Program for safe supervision.
