Athletics
Competitive athletics at Athens Academy are an integral part of the school's total educational program. The purpose of the athletic program is to develop endurance, strength, coordination, self-confidence, self-discipline, and team work as well as lifelong recreational habits and skills. The athletic program is a performance-driven program where the athletes' well-being comes first, winning second.
Students experience the meaning of sportsmanship while participating in athletic competitions. Sports offer young people a unique opportunity to make good moral decisions in pressure situations. It is the philosophy of Athens Academy to always support the ideal of the student athlete within the framework of the school’s motto, “Excellence with Honor.”
