Athletic Facilties


Athens Academy has extensive athletic facilities thanks to the generous contributions of parents, alumni, and friends.

Phase I of the Spartan Center, which houses the main gymnasium, athletic offices, and other multipurpose spaces, was completed during the 1992-1993 school year. Phase II, consisting of an 18,000 sq ft addition that opened the center for interscholastic competition, was completed in January 1998.


The Slaughter Field Football and Soccer Stadium was completed in September 1997; improvements during the 2003-2004 school year added 1600 visitor seats.


The Baseball Field was refurbished for the 1993 spring season. Lights for night-time play were added in April, 2000; dressing rooms, concessions, restrooms, and the press box were completed in March 2004.



The Track Complex includes an 8-lane track built in 2003 and accompanying track house and field event areas added in 2004.

  • Numerous Practice Fields
  • 2 Weight Rooms
