Drama Club




The Athens Academy Drama Club was founded in 2001 by student Lauren Schacher. The purpose of the club is to give members opportunities to experience the performing arts, to increase awareness of the performing arts in our community, and to provide service support for events in our area. The governing board consists of an elected club president and volunteer co-chairs for each annual activity and event.

Our Activities include:
  • attending plays and performances
  • sponsoring workshops
  • volunteering as holiday characters for the Five Points Open House
  • organizing the Service Day story time project
  • volunteering as storybook characters for Oconee Library events
  • contributing to the Georgia Shakespeare Festival's educational programs
  • providing concession stands for various plays and talent shows
  • sponsoring canned food drives for the Athens Area Food Bank
  • raising money for Project Pallam
  • organizing the Shakespeare's Birthday Celebration
  • creating DVDs of the Graduation ceremony
The Drama Club is a club for all students- performer and non-performers alike.
