Fine Arts Service
Drama Club
The Drama Club increases awareness of the performing arts in our community and provides service support for events in our area. Service activities include:
- volunteering as holiday characters for the Five Points Open House
- organizing the Service Day story time project
- volunteering as storybook characters for Oconee Library events
- contributing to the Georgia Shakespeare Festival's educational programs
- providing concession stands for various plays and talent shows
- sponsoring canned food drives for the Athens Area Food Bank
- raising money for Project Pallam
The Upper School and Middle School orchestras and bands present holiday concerts at area hospitals and assisted living facilities. During 2009 they traveled to Athens Regional Medical Center, Iris Place, and Lanier Gardens to spread holiday spirit in the Athens community. The Pep Band entertains at pep rallies and home football games. Students meet on their own time to rehearse for the Friday events.
