Middle School Orientation Schedule


Spring: May 18, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.

Board of Trustees Welcome and Orientation for New Families, followed by an all-school cookout at the football stadium.

Summer:
  • Each new family is assigned a current family as a “buddy." The buddy family has a child of the same gender and in the same class as the new family. The buddy family will contact the new Spartans during the summer.
  • Grade representatives contact all new parents to welcome them to Athens Academy and answer questions.
  • For new students we hold a “Back to a New School” Orientation Day. Returning students welcome the new students, play games, take them on tours, and introduce teachers.
  • Most grades hold back-to-school parties and include the new students.

  • August 17, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. - New Student Orientation

First Week of School:
  • Homeroom teachers assign a buddy to help kids with schedules, eat lunch with them, and “show them the ropes."
  • Students are introduced and welcomed during chapel. We also talk about our experiences of being new and how we can welcome new Spartans.
