Middle School Technology
Developing information and technology skills is an integral part of Middle School instruction. Personal laptops have become an essential tool used for teaching and learning. At Athens Academy, technology is integrated into classes in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, foreign language, and fine arts. At the start of the seventh grade, Athens Academy issues a laptop to each student. In preparation for the student laptop rollout, we hold a laptop orientation meeting with all seventh graders and their parents. As with all personal items, students are responsible for securing their laptops and they are responsible for the cost of repair or replacement for laptop loss, damage, and/or theft. Athens Academy’s Help Desk will support only school-selected laptops issued to students and faculty.
Athens Academy teaches responsible use of technology. Students are informed about the Technology Acceptable Use Policy for computers and telecommunications technologies.
