How to Apply


In evaluating an applicant and making admissions decisions, consideration is given in the following areas:
  • availability of space in the class
  • the academic profile of the applicant
  • personal interests of the applicant
  • potential contributions of the applicant to the academic and extracurricular interests of the school
  • strength of character and understanding gleaned from an interview
  • academic and personal recommendations
  • alumni and/or sibling relations

To get a complete view of the school, visit one of our Information Sessions in October (grades 5-9), November (preschool), or December/January (all grades). Or, arrange ab individual visit through the Admissions Office.

Applications are accepted year round. To be considered in the first round of decisions for K3-1st, applications should be received by December 15; for grades 2-12, applications should be received by February 15.


For your convenience. there are two ways to apply to Athens Academy -
1) Paper and 2) Online.

1) The traditional paper application, either received by mail or downloaded from this site. Be sure to also download the teacher recommendation forms. The application should be completed and returned with:
  • The most recent standardized testing.
  • A copy of last year's report card.
  • A copy of the most recent report card.
  • Recommendation forms should be forwarded to math and English teachers.

2) Online application can be used for rising seventh through twelfth graders only, but is not available during the month of July.
  • Apply online using the standard SSAT application. This is the easiest and most efficient way to apply. SSAT accepts Visa and Mastercard.
  • The Athens Academy code is 1416.
  • Access the SSAT system here, where you will be able to create an account or login.
