Welcome Alumni!
As a new school year begins, Athens Academy’s students are back on campus, ready to learn. Faculty members are back as well, finalizing lesson plans, organizing classrooms and labs, and getting ready for a new year. It wasn’t so long ago that we alumni were students, writing papers, studying for tests, and working hard. We have gone on to careers in medicine, law, science, literature, and the arts—locally, nationally, and internationally.
As the Alumni Association President, I am excited to serve with an outstanding group of individuals on our board. The board has almost doubled in size and now includes Vice President Tom Allen ‘89 and board members: Lucy Allen Gillis ‘98, Rheema Carr Capra ‘83, Tom Collins ‘86, Randall Cook ‘04, Greta Terrell Covington ‘82, Henry Garrard ‘92, Andrew Herrin ‘86, Rodney Howell ‘94, Sara Lloyd ‘04, Von Massey ‘80, Beth Strickland Thomas ‘90, Corky Warner ‘90, and Frieda Barber Clarke ‘83, immediate past president and “Drive to a Million” campaign co-chair.We will continue our effort to contact each alumnus for updated information, especially an email address.
