Alumni Giving
From the beginning, Athens Academy has been built by the gifts and support of parents, grandparents, trustees, faculty, friends, and alumni. Participation by all is a tradition at Athens Academy. Athens Academy tuition and tax-deductible gifts are our two most important sources of financial support. To ensure excellence in the school’s education program now and in the future, the entire community must support the Annual Fund and Capital Campaign.
- The Annual Fund provides the critical means of support required to meet pressing school needs, especially recruiting, rewarding, and retaining top teachers.
- The ongoing 21st Century Classroom Capital Campaign provides support for new buildings, major campus improvements, and increases the endowment.
In supporting the school as alums we are making great progress. Since 1999, our alumni endowment to support teachers has topped $300,000 in cash, pledges, and investment growth. Recently, the Board established a goal to raise the alumni endowment to $1,000,000 by the year 2011. Key to our reaching our goal is alumni participation from each class each year. Athens Academy is a nonprofit, charitable institution that has been granted tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service. As a 501(c)(3) organization, Athens Academy accepts charitable contributions that are fully deductible for federal and Georgia income, gift, and estate tax purposes.
