Development and Financial Responsibility
Charitable contributions by parents, faculty, staff, trustees, grandparents, alumni, and friends of Athens Academy play an essential role in the daily operation of our school. As an independent school, Athens Academy is supported by tuition and charitable contributions rather than by government or church subsidies. Athens Academy tuition and tax-deductible gifts are the two most important sources of financial support.
Responsibilities include:
- Make tuition payments on time to ensure Athens Academy’s financial security.
- Join and support the Parent Service Organization (PSO) by attendance and involvement in events and activities. For a listing of this year’s PSO events, see the directory portion of this handbook.
- Contribute according to financial ability to the Annual Fund Campaign. The Annual Fund provides the critical measure of support required to meet pressing school needs, especially recruiting, rewarding, and retaining top teachers.
- Contribute according to financial ability to the ongoing 21 st Century Classroom Capital Campaign for new buildings, major campus improvements, and endowment.
As an independent school, Athens Academy relies on two campaigns for charitable contributions: Annual Fund and Capital Campaign.
