Parents and the School
Development and Financial Responsibility
Charitable contributions by parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends of Athens Academy play an essential role in the daily operation of our school. As an independent school, Athens Academy is supported by tuition and charitable contributions rather than by government or church subsidies. Athens Academy tuition and tax-deductible gifts are our two most important sources of financial support.Responsibilities of Parents:
- Make tuition payments on time to ensure Athens Academy’s financial security.
- Join and support the Parent Service Organization (PSO) by attendance and involvement in events and activities.
- Contribute according to financial ability to the Annual Fund Campaign. The Annual Fund provides the critical measure of support required to meet pressing school needs, especially recruiting, rewarding, and retaining outstanding teachers.
- Contribute according to financial ability to the ongoing 21st Century Capital Campaign for new buildings, major campus improvements, and endowment.
Athens Academy is a nonprofit, charitable institution that has been granted tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service. As a 501(c)(3) organization, Athens Academy accepts charitable contributions that are fully deductible for federal and Georgia income, gift, and estate tax purposes.
