  About the Media Center

Students come to the Media Center once a week for a regularly scheduled library period. During this time, the media specialist conducts literature enrichment activities such as story readings, book talks, and library skills instruction.  This time gives students an opportunity to learn about new books, old favorites, and share ideas with others.

Parent volunteers sometimes read to their child's class and Headmaster, Bob Chambers, enjoys sharing books with all of the students during their library time.

This period is also used for instruction
in using the automated card catalog
and other information literacy skills.

A time to check out books is included in
this weekly library period.  Students may
also come at other times for check-out.

The alcove provides a relaxing spot for students to enjoy reading silently or share a good book or magazine with a friend.

During lunch time recess, 3rd and 4th grade students enjoy using the computers in the Discovery Center, browsing through the collection to select a book, or reading a favorite book or magazine in the alcove.

The Discovery Center is a large room where students engage in hands-on activities and small group work
or class presentations by students or speakers.

Throughout all grades, students find the tools to help them read and discover
the world in which we live.
