Sixteen members of Athens Academy’s Class of 2019 were tapped for membership in The Cum Laude Society on Thursday, April 4. The ninth annual Cabaniss Lecture, which preceded the ceremony, was given by alumna Karishma Sriram, a member of the Class of 2012 and current third-year medical student at Duke University School of Medicine.
As the secondary school equivalent of Phi Beta Kappa, The Cum Laude Society recognizes superior academic achievement and sound character. Congratulations to inductees Zainub Ali, Jay Bangle, Alex Branch, Silin Chen, Wesley Cline, Stewart Crymes, Lillian Glushka, David Gordon, Mason Harvill, Hart Hequembourg, Lawrence Jang, Mary Lane, Holt Leach, Daniel Rouhani, Anna Sennowitz, and Tommy Warner.
These students represent some of Athens Academy’s best and brightest. They are also leaders, athletes, artists, actors, volunteers, and more. This fall they will attend schools like the University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Emory University, Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Michigan, and McGill University (Quebec).
