On Thursday, April 21, seventeen members of Athens Academy’s Class of 2022 were inducted into the prestigious Cum Laude Society in recognition of their commitment to superior scholastic achievement throughout Upper School. The eleventh annual Cabaniss Lecture, which preceded the ceremony, was given by Mr. Michael Lai, staff software engineer for Google and a member of Athens Academy’s Class of 2010.
As the secondary school equivalent of Phi Beta Kappa, The Cum Laude Society recognizes superior academic achievement and sound character. Congratulations to inductees Imana Adogu, Oliver Carrigan, Brooks Chisolm, Taylor Dorsey, Steven Holder, Daniel Huang, Mae Kline, Ethan Markewitz, Elizabeth Marx, Davis McLanahan, Kathryn Nichols, Ingrid Nilsson, Jane Ann Raeber, Lexi Sennowitz, Davis Slate, Will Warner, and Oliver Yates.
These students represent some of Athens Academy’s best and brightest. They are leaders, athletes, artists, actors, volunteers, and more. This fall they will attend the University of Georgia, Princeton University, Georgetown University, the University of Michigan, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and more.
