TALLULAH FALLS 40, ATHENS ACADEMY 38: At Tallulah Falls, the Spartans fell to 14-10 overall and 6-3 in Region 8-A with a heartbreaking loss against the Indians.
Rose Bone led Athens Academy with 11 points, followed by Meredith Reynolds (eight points), Madeline Wicker (six points, eight rebounds), Adair Marvel (six points) and Jaila Salley-Barnett (four points, five assists).
The Spartans, the region’s No. 4 seed, will play at 7 p.m. Tuesday against No. 5 Prince Avenue Christian in the first round of the region tournament.
