Wrestling Roundup: Who qualified for state traditionals? - ABH

CLASS A: At the East Sectional at Strong Rock Christian in Locust Grove, Commerce served notice that the Tigers are ready and willing to defend their Class A state championship by qualifying 12 wrestlers for next week’s state meet in Macon.
Weight division champions from Commerce included Daniel Nash (106 pounds), Dawson Legg (113 pounds), Bryson Flint (126 pounds), Jake Frates (182 pounds) and Elijah Burns (195 pounds).
Second-place finishers included Brayden Phillips (170 pounds) and Josh Frates (220 pounds). Ethan Epps (285 pounds) came in fourth place, Caleb Lovin (120 pounds) came in sixth place, Landon Worley (132 pounds) was seventh, Lambdon Hardy (160 pounds) was seventh and Logan Sherman (152 pounds) came in eighth place.
Makaila McCormick (142 pounds, second place) and Kaylii McCormick (132 pounds, fourth place) will represent Commerce in the girls’ state competition.
For Athens Christian, Brian Rodriguez won the 132-pound championship, Ali Nabulsi finished fifth at 152 pounds and Joseph Ulrich was fourth at 182 pounds.
For Athens Academy, Jarad Faulkner finished sixth at 138 pounds, Elliot Williams finished third at 160 pounds and Ethan Connelly was fifth at 182 pounds.
