Track teams excel at region meets - Oconee Enterprise

The Athens Academy girls team finished second with 109 overall points while its boys team was third at 138.
Addison Ollendick-Smith was second in the girls 400-meter dash at 1:00.53 with Mills Crosland finishing eighth in 1:05.42.
Ollendick-Smith won the girls 800-meter run in 2:19.74. Davis McLanahan (2:20.85) and Nathalie Lavender (2:31.01) were third and sixth.
Sarah Harrison placed second in the girls 1,600-meter run in 5:26.75, followed by Davis McLanahan in fifth at 5:39.77 and Lavender in sixth at 5:45.77.
Harrison finished second in the girls 3,200-meter run at 11:51.55 while Emily Coggins placed ninth in 14:36.24. Kavya Menke (18.22) placed seventh in the girls 100-meter hurdles.
The Lady Spartans finished fifth in the 4x100 relay and second in the 4x400 relay.
Athens Academy’s team of Ollendick-Smith, Harrison, Lavender and Davis McLanahan won the 4x800 relay in 9:32.60.
In the girls pole vault, Hanna McLean finished fourth at 7-00. Popi Marquez (14-06) was sixth and in the girls long jump & Menke (32-05.50) finished third in the girls triple jump.
Mae Kline placed third in girls shot put at 30-04.50, followed by Emma Hooper at 30-00 and Millie McLanahan at 23-07 in fourth and 11th, respectively.
Hooper was fourth in the discus throw at 93-07 with Millie McLanahan finishing sixth at 84-10 and Kline finishing eighth at 79-02.
Deion Colzie won the boys 100-meter dash in 11.19. He was followed by Austin McGee in second (11.40) and Tre Hawkins in fifth at 11.80. McGee also finished second in the boys 200-meter dash in 22.85.
Evan Smith placed sixth in the 400-meter dash in 53.84 while Preston Darden was seventh in 54.51. Rob Sullivan finished runner-up in the 800-meter run in 2:01.88 followed by Grant Tribble in 12th at 2:22.42.
Jackson Scruggs was second in the boys 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:44.27. Robbie Dillon (4:58.31) finished sixth. Scruggs was second in the 3,200-meter run in 10:07.82 while Dillon’s time of 10:39.93 led to a fourth place finish.
Ryland Marley placed fifth in the boys 110-meter hurdles in 17.75 and finished third in the 300-meter hurdles in 43.45.
Athens Academy’s boys 4x100 relay team of Colzie, Hawkins Darden and McGee won its event in 43.34.
The Spartans finished third in the 4x400 relay in 3:42.00 and second in the 4x800 relay in 8:53.01.
Colzie won the boys high jump at 6-06.00. Collin Edge (10-00) took sixth in the pole vault while Michael Cashin (9-06) was ninth. Tom Hollingworth was 12th in the long jump at 16-08 and fourth in the triple jump at 38-01.50.
Johnerio Holt (48-10) won the boys shot put. J’Rico Wright (35-01.50) was 12th and Khoa Le (31-05) was 19th.
Holt was second in discus throw at 126-03 followed by Le at 101-07 and Wright at 87-08.
