ATHENS ACADEMY DOMINATES: At Athens Academy, the Spartans improved to 8-3 with lopsided victories over White County (25-11, 25-13) and Oglethorpe County (25-13, 25-7).
Against White County, Athens Academy was led by Olivia Nealy (eight kills, five aces), Anna Rutledge (three blocks), Annsley Flack (seven digs), Ali Rumpel (eight digs) and Mara Thomas (21 assists).
Against Oglethorpe County, Rumpel had seven kills and six digs, Nealy had six kills, Flack had seven aces and Thomas had 15 assists.
The Spartans will host the Athens Academy Invitational on Saturday and will face Morgan County, Atlanta International and Morgan County. Oglethorpe County (0-6) will play Lanier and Madison County on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Lanier Play Date.
