So that faculty and staff members can model the concepts of intellectual curiosity and life-long learning for their students, opportunities for professional growth abound at Athens Academy. The school encourages teachers each year to attend and/or present at local, regional, and national conferences, workshops, and seminars in their respective fields. Teachers also benefit from a variety of on-campus offerings, including guest lecturers, peer-to-peer workshops, online courses, and three faculty development days each year. Stipends for educational travel, summer curriculum development, and personal development are also available each year.

Athens Academy is guided by its mission to "seek excellence with honor in the personal and educational experience of each student" and recently embarked on its latest strategic plan (2022-2027) which charts an ambitious course for the future of its students, programs, faculty, and facilities.

  • Extended Day Staff

    Athens Academy is looking for individuals to work with children ages four through Grade 8 in the Extended Day Program. The work hours can be flexible to accommodate individual schedules between 12:30-6:00 p.m.  These are part-time positions. Experience working with young children is preferred. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Monitor and report behavior of the students according to approved procedures. 
    • Assist students with homework as necessary.
    • Oversee students involved in activities, maintaining order and proper protocols during all activities.
    • Work cooperatively and consistently with Extended Day Program Coordinator, teachers and parents.
    • Attend designated orientation.
    The pay for the Extended Day positions is $11.00 per hour.

    Athens Academy's Learning Resource Center is seeking several tutors. These are part-time, independent contractor positions that do not qualify for benefits. We are accepting applications for tutors with expertise in the following areas:
    • Language Arts, grades 5-6
    • English, grades 7-12
    • Chemistry, grades 10-12
    • Calculus, grades 11-12
    • History, grades 9-12
    • Statistics, grades 11-12
    • Study Strategies, grades 5-12
