It has been an incredible season. You started off great but then had to battle through some tough losses. You had the highest seed of our 3 year history and won our very first tournament game. The semi-finals could have ended with a rout, but you showed your resolve and fought back to within 6 points. It exemplified your team's character and the hard work each of you put into this season. Nine of our 11 players scored in yesterday's game, wow! In my 20 years of coaching basketball, you are certainly one of my favorite teams. I am already excited to watch what happens when many of you take the court next year. Thank you for being such awesome young men and for a season full of laughs and amazing memories. Good luck with your Spring endeavors. Go Spartans!
Thank you for sharing your sons with me this season. Late October until now is a long time, and it has been an incredible journey. Your children were spectatcular, not just on the court but as young men. I am grateful for all of your time, patience, and support as we had our best season since the inception of this team. Our scorekeepers were phenomenal, and hearing you from the stands was often a huge boost when things were not going well. Your efforts and generosity are greatly appreciated, and I cannot stress how honored I am to have gotten to know many of you and each of your children better. Go Spartans!
Happy New Year, Spartans! We need to lace up and finish what we have started. Our first practice back will Tuesday, January 2nd from 2:00 - 4:00 in the old gym. Please let me know if you are still out of town and unable to attend. Practices are posted but there may be a change this week as we may be adding a scrimmage. Our next game is Saturday, January 6th at 6:30 against Loganville. It is at the Spartan Center! This will be a good test of where we are as they are a perennially strong team. We lost to them at the buzzer last year! Saturday is also picture day so athletes will need to arrive an hour early (5:30). Go Spartans!
With an emphasis on the development of complete basketball players, the programs have enjoyed a successful history. Both boys’ and girls’ programs have a track record of multiple Region Championships and deep playoff runs.
So that our athletes receive quality instruction with a realistic opportunity for playing time, the size of teams in some sports is limited. Students "try out" for teams. Although there is no guarantee that a student will be selected for a specific team, the number and variety of offerings provide many opportunities for each player.
