Athens Academy Varsity Baseball

2018 Class A Private State Baseball Tournament
Round 1, Game 2

It is always difficult to write the last game summary.  We have seen a season of dedication, growth, and camaraderie.  We have come to realize it does take a village to put a baseball team on the field...from the players, to the parents, to the coaches...  When reflection begins, after the sadness of elimination begins to dim, we realize what an incredible journey it has been.  Our memories of that special moment become stronger and we realize that the vision this group of young men has brought us is a blessing we will forever treasure in our hearts.

The Spartans came into the second game of the doubleheader confident, but this just wasn’t their day.  The normally strong pitching could not find the strike zone, there were errors, and we could not put our “big trademark” inning together.
