DEION COLZIE: A FIRST LOOK - SI Irish Maven

I am going to watch Colzie play tonight, but I also got a first-hand look at him at practice yesterday, albeit an indoor practice due to inclement weather.

No pads, and just helmets, shirts and shorts. Pretty basic stuff. Still, I learned quite a bit about Deion. A few quick thoughts.
MATURITY: This kid is not your normal freak show 6-3 ½, 205-pound WR. Humble, honest, and very smart. I’ve lost count of how many times I witnessed a prima donna WR during my travels this year alone. It’s exhausting. Deion is just the opposite. He will fit in wherever he goes in life.
SIZE: As advertised. Long, lean and not an ounce of bad weight on his body. He’s going to end up in the 220-pound range. Look for Deion play the “X” or “W” position. Paired with Lorenzo Styles, that will be a fantastic combination of wide receivers for Irish signal callers.
LENGTH: Good grief, he’s built like a Syracuse shooting guard. Very long arms and legs. Notre Dame will be making “alley-oop” passes and back-shoulder throws to maximize Colzie’s size and long arms. More than passes the look test, for sure.
I will be going to watch Colzie play tonight. I can better assess his talent after watching him live. Looking forward to it.
