The Athens Banner-Herald/OnlineAthens.com All-Area boys basketball team

Kashik Brown, Cedar Shoals – The junior guard was named the Region 8-4A Player of the Year and averaged 21.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. 

Josue Capeles Torres, Apalachee – The junior forward averaged a double-double of 12.1 points and 10.2 rebounds per game and was named All-Region 8-6A. 

Kalib Clinton, Jackson County – Shooting 66% from the field, the senior was named Region 8-5A’s Co-Player of the Year. He’s Jackson County’s all-time leading scorer (1,914 points) and rebounder (962) and averaged 23.6 points and 11.1 rebounds per game this season. He is committed to Charleston Southern. 

Deion Colzie, Athens Academy – The senior forward averaged a double-double of 17.1 points and 10.7 rebounds per game and also shot 71 % from the field. 

Rio Foster, Clarke Central – The senior forward averaged 18.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game and was named Region 8-5A Co-Player of the Year. 

Wyatt Fricks, Winder-Barrow – The 6-foot-9 senior forward averaged 19.2 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game and was named All-Region 8-6A. 

Nolan Hill, Madison County – The senior forward averaged 14.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game and was named All-Region 8-4A. 

Isaiah Nelson-Ododa, Winder-Barrow – The 6-foot-10 senior forward averaged 13.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 5.2 blocks for the Bulldoggs this season. He was also named All-Region 8-6A. 

Zach Oechsle, Oconee County – The first-team All-Region 8-3A pick averaged 17 points, five rebounds and three assists per game this season. 

Jace Saxon, North Oconee – The senior guard averaged 22.1 points, six rebounds and 3.1 assists per game and was named All-Region 8-4A for the second consecutive season.
