Five Seniors Sign with College Teams
Athens Academy is pleased to announce five seniors signed today to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. This morning the following were recognized at a special signing ceremony in the Farmer Field House:
- Sam Bush is a preferred walk-on for the University of Georgia Bulldogs this fall in Athens.
- Will Hines will join the Washington and Lee University Generals swim team next year in Lexington, Virginia. Garrett Kennedy has been appointed to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he will join the Falcons’ swim team.
- Jackson Scruggs will attend Vanderbilt University next year, where he will run for the Commodores’ cross country and track teams.
- ClaraJane Williams has been appointed to the United States Naval Academy, where she will play soccer for the Midshipmen.
In addition to these five students, three Athens Academy volleyball players signed letters of intent last fall. Mary Miller will play for Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland; Olivia Nealy will play for Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts; and Mara Thomas will play for Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana.
