Ninth Grader Wins Congressional Art Contest

Congratulations to ninth grader Remy Marty, who has won the Congressional Art Competition with her graphite portrait "Tove Jansson." The contest is the U.S. House of Representatives’ official art competition, and her artwork will represent Georgia District 10 in the U.S. Capitol gallery for the next year. In addition, Remy has won a trip to Washington, D.C., to participate in the national awards ceremony and see her artwork on display in the Capitol.

Senior Lucy Hayes’ colored pencil piece "Bones" placed second in the district. Senior Seager Hunt and sophomore Carson Nelson were also finalists with their artwork "Lunch Break" and "Ulysses S. Grant," respectively.
