Athens Academy senior guard/defensive tackle Frank Sinkwich IV will be a preferred walk on at Georgia, Sinkwich said on Twitter Wednesday.
Sinkwich (5-11, 236 pounds) graded out at 83 percent for the Spartans this season and was an all-area honorable mention. He also played in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ All-Star game in December.
Sinkwich is the great-grandson of 1942 Heisman Trophy winner Frank Sinkwich, who finished his three-year career at Georgia with 2,271 rushing yards, 2,331 passing yards and 60 touchdowns and accounted for 382 total offensive yards in an Orange Bowl win over TCU.
Athens Academy went 9-3 and reached the second round of the Class A Private state playoffs.
