Practice Makes Perfect
Baseball, like life, is a skill that needs to be practiced daily to achieve your personal best.
A week away from that consistency certainly seemed to impact the Spartans as they allowed only 2 earned runs in a 6-9 loss in Macon. That well-oiled machine was challenged by plays that normally come easily to them.
Wyatt England, Avi Patel, and Charlie King pitched for the Spartans for a combined 9 run, 6 hit, 7 strike-out, 3 walk game. The Eagles put five pitchers on the mound, allowing 5 earned runs.
The Spartans scored five runs in the top of the fourth to take a 5-3 lead on 4 walks (Wyatt, Jackson Reynolds, Charlie King, Hilt Moree) and two doubles by Charlie Kahlstorf and Jack White. Stratford went ahead 7-5 in the bottom of the fourth to seal the win.

Game Changers:
2 earned runs
In the first inning, the lead off batter was caught stealing 2-6-5 (Reynolds to Bush to Williamson)
In the third inning, the Eagles pitcher doubled to left. A courtesy runner was put into the game and went to third on a wild pitch. The next batter hit a scorching ground ball to Wesley at third who fired to Jackson at home. Newton's first law of motion states that "An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force."
NOT true with Jackson Reynolds....the runner came full force at Jackson and Jackson was a solid wall...player out at home and ejected by one of the best umpiring crews I have seen.
In the sixth, Palmer turned a 6 unassisted double play to Wyatt covering first
