Pitching, Key Hitting, Outstanding Base Running Lead Spartans to Victory
A huge fifth inning for the Spartans, including 2 singles, a double, a triple and 2 stolen bases (including stealing home) was a definite game changer in maintaining the teams unbeaten status in region play. Briefly, Jackson Reynolds doubled, Charlie King tripled, Hilt Moree singled, Avi Patel was hit by a pitch and went to third on a single by Palmer Bush. As Palmer stole second, Avi stole home!
The Spartans outstanding base-running squeezed out a couple runs, along with 5 stolen bases. Ethan Connelly is joining the elite ranks of the Trapnell brothers with his amazing speed.
When a Spartan gets on base, they run! When the opposing team tries, Jackson Reynolds puts an immediate stop to their efforts.
Jack Thomas confidently took the mound for the Spartans to pick up the win. Charlie King entered in the fifth to earn the save in relief.
