Coach Banks Inducted into Smith High School Hall of Fame
Congratulations to Coach James Banks for recently being inducted into the Hoke Smith High School Hall of Fame!

Coach Banks attended Hoke Smith High School (closed in 1985) from 1976-1980 in which he became a McDonald's All-American & Parade All-American. Banks would go onto play collegiately at the University of Georgia from 1980-1984, in which he led the Bulldogs to their only Final Four appearance in school history (1983). Banks would go on to enjoy a 16 year professional career between the NBA & European League overseas before returning to Athens to coach high school basketball at Athens Academy. Congratulations, coach!
