Athens Banner-Herald/OnlineAthens.com 2021 All-Area Boys Tennis Team

North Oconee's boys placed runner up this season to conclude a strong season of high school tennis. Here's a look at the Athens Banner-Herald/OnlineAthens.com's All-Area Team:

SINGLES
 
Lleyton Beasley, North Oconee – Playing No. 2 singles, the freshman went undefeated at 14-0 and was a first-team All-Region 8-4A selection as the Titans won the region championship and advanced to the finals of the Class 4A state tournament. 

Elijah Cummings, Athens Christian – The senior played at No. 1 singles and finished the season with a 13-3 record, tying a school record for most wins in a season and finishing second on the all-time school list for victories in a career (33) as the Eagles qualified for the Class A Private state tournament. 

Luke Forrester, Jefferson – The junior posted a 7-3 mark at No. 1 singles and was a second-team All-Region 8-4A selection as the Dragons advanced to the second round of the Class 4A state tournament. 

Ryan Foster, Oconee County – The junior, who was named first-team All-Region 8-3A, went 8-1 in region play and 14-6 overall as the Warriors won the region championship and advanced to the semifinals of the Class 3A state tournament. 

Kade Graves, Jackson County – Playing at No. 1 singles, the senior – named the Region 8-5A Player of the Year -- went 20-1 with a undefeated regular season, a 26-game winning streak (dating back to 2020) and a career mark of 60-7 as the Panthers qualified for the Class 5A state tournament. 

Victor Huang, Oconee County – The sophomore, a first-team All-Region 8-3A selection, was 19-3 overall at No. 2 singles and was 10-0 in region play as the Warriors won the region championship and advanced to the semifinals of the Class 3A state tournament. 

Jack Jaegers, Athens Academy – The senior played at No. 1 singles this year and posted a 16-3 record as the Spartans won their 34th consecutive region championship and qualified for the Class A Private state tournament. 

Sam Johnson, North Oconee – The senior played No. 3 singles and posted an 8-1 record, with his only loss coming against Brookwood; the Titans won the region championship and advanced to the finals of the Class 4A state tournament. 

Xan Pearce, North Oconee – The senior, a first-team All-Region 8-4A pick, went 12-4 at No. 1 singles as the Titans won the region title and advanced to the finals of the Class 4A state tournament. 

Drake Tatar, Jackson County – The junior posted a 16-3 record at No. 2 singles, was undefeated in Region 8-5A play and was named first-team all-region as the Panthers qualified for the Class 5A state tournament. 

DOUBLES 

Patrick Allen/Patrick Gresham, Clarke Central – Allen, a freshman, and Gresham, a senior, went 5-0 and earned second-team All-Region 8-5A honors as the Gladiators qualified for the Class 5A state tournament. 

Landon Hall/Evan Thomas, Madison County – Hall and Thomas played at No. 1 doubles, posted a 15-2 overall record and a 2-1 mark in state tournament play and earned first-team All-Region 8-4A honors as the Red Raiders advanced to the semifinals of the Class 4A state tournament. 

Bo Reeves/Garrett Julian, Jackson County – Reeves and Julian were undefeated in Region 8-5A and had a nine-match winning streak during the season, earning first-team all-region honors as the Panthers advanced to the Class 5A state tournament. 

Ben Rogers/Krish Patel, North Oconee – Rogers, a senior, and Patel, a junior, went 12-1 and earned first-team All-Region 8-4A honors as the Titans won the region championship and advanced to the finals of the Class 4A state tournament.

Haruki Takeuchi/Sasha Popik, Oconee County – Takeuchi and Popik posted an overall record of 17-3 and was undefeated in Region 8-3A and state tournament play as the Warriors won the region title and advanced to the semifinals of the Class 3A state tournament.
